There are significant differences between the makeup of the puppy and kitten milk replacers. The kitten formula is higher in protein and lower in fat content because felines are true carnivores and need more protein than canines. Vitamin and mineral content of each formula also reflects the different requirements of kittens and puppies.
Description:Weigh the kitten. Prepare enough Just Born®, with the enclosed measuring scoop, for use within a 24 hour period. Kittens should be fed at least 1/2 ounce of liquid Just Born® for every 2 ounces of body weight, daily. Kittens should be allowed to consume as much formula as they want, although this should be moderated the first few days because of their fragile kidneys. The table below gives minimum feeding amounts for a 24 hour period. Mix 1 tablespoon powder into 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon water. Use tap or bottled water. Stir until smooth. Pour liquid into an appropriate sized, clean nursing bottle or feeding syringe. Heat liquid by placing bottle or feeding syringe in a pan of tepid water. Test temperature on your wrist. It should feel slightly warm. Do not microwave. Store Just Born® powder in the refrigerator. Refrigerate unused reconstituted liquid for up to 24 hours. After feeding, hold the kitten’s head on your shoulder and rub his back gently until he burps.
